Surviving C-19

185 Days since first US infection

No Headline Tsunami, it’s me day off.  I am certainly glad I decided to give myself one, this BS is exhausting.  I imagine most folks are tired and distressed inside their bubble. Trying to look outside of my own, to see how it is all spun to us, in this Pandemic, with the most divisive Presidency of my life, it is utterly exhausting and depressing.

It is not new to me, it is an amplification of the way I already felt due to climate change.  The Pandemic and Climate Change share a lot of commonalities.  Both are simply science problems, lessen CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions or suffer the consequences of not doing so.  Test, track, and contain the virus, or suffer the consequences. Both suffer from rampant denialism, easier to deny the reality than to face its cold hard facts.  Both have many in active denial, while both are killing us. I see the Pandemic as an outgrowth of Climate Change, of humans destroying ever more of the pristine areas, digger ever deeper into whatever is left that is ‘wild’, and thereby finding a novel virus.

I keep recalling a line from Bugs Bunny; ‘Remember, you asked for it!”
